Overview
The Barnett College of Ministry and Theology is launching a competency-based education initiative designed to make theological training more accessible and affordable for students. This approach allows students to progress through their studies based on their existing knowledge and skills, so they don’t have to start from scratch. By focusing on practical, real-world competencies, the program ensures that students gain hands-on experience while learning. This flexible model empowers students to complete their education at their own pace, reducing costs and making the learning process more relevant to their ministry needs. Funds for the competency-based education (CBE) initiative will be used to design and implement a flexible curriculum, develop assessment tools, and support faculty in delivering practical, real-world learning experiences.
